Councils & Memberships
Cross-Functional Leadership
Here is an overview of the councils I participated on, and my role in each. In some cases, I launched the council to fill a company or technical need. In others I joined as a natural progression of work I was doing.
Association of the Old Crows
The Association of Old Crows (AOC) is an organization that advocates the advancement of electronic defense development, knowledge, and techniques. AOC will provide a forum for sharing ideas and experiences through communication, education and leadership.
Failure Review Board
The Failure Review Board (FRB) takes on the worst failures impacting customers or the company bottom line to determine root cause and corrective actions. I served as both a member and the leader, depending upon the investigation.
Software Leadership Council
The Software Leadership Council (SLC) was a council I started and chaired at GE Aviation, Controls Center of Excellence, to run weekly coordination and initiatives across the center.
Requirements Management Steering Council
This council operated at Hamilton Sundstrand to coordinate requirements tooling and standards across thousands of people. I was the senior member representing the Missile, Space, and Undersea division. Created standards for reviewing and managing requirements.
CMMI Council
Led and chaired multiple Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) for Development councils across three different companies, UTC, GE, and L3Harris. Led the efforts to prepare the company for and successfully complete Level 2 and Level 3 Assessments. Performed audits and provided avenues forward for compliance. Focus areas included Requirements Management, Requirements Development, Verification, Validation, Organizational Training, Organizational Process Focus, Technical Solution, and Product Integration. I also supported the other areas surrounding engineering in their assessment prep.
Enterprise Process Improvement &Â Management
The Enterprise Process Improvement and Management teams (EPI & EPM) were responsible for managing AS9100 processes.  I served as a member and the Chair. Led the company through multiple successful assessments. Led continuous improvement initiatives, and reviewed process changes for potential impacts before approving.
SharePoint Governance Council
I created and chaired the SharePoint Governance Council (SGC) for 6 years, from the time I stood up SharePoint until the time it was adopted by the larger corporation. This included many aspects of architecture and integrated use across all engineering and supporting functions. This tied in with my EPI/EPM efforts as SharePoint, as well as another tool I championed, Nintex Workflow, helped the company automate engineering processes.
Enterprise Resource System & Manufacturing Execution System Selection Council Chair
Representing the President, I chaired a 6-month effort to select a replacement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and simultaneously, a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
